That an alleged Kidnapper cum Robber was arrested by policemen was a commendable and good action but really terrible to dehumanize a woman found in the scene. Quite unfortunate.
The Nigeria Police Force identified three police officers and a civilian accomplice who participated in the unprofessional act of ‘dehumanizing’ a female citizen as seen in a viral video on Wednesday.
The PRO, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Dcp Frank Mba said this in a statement on Thursday.
And according to the statement, they are currently being detained and investigated at the Lagos State CID detention facility, Panti, Yaba.
“The 2 suspects, ASP Tijani Olatunji and Inspector Gboyega Oyeniyi have been arrested for their role in the unmerited conduct and uncivil act to a member of the public,” said in the statement.

“Preliminary investigations show that the policemen who are attached to Area ‘A’ Command, Lion Building, Lagos, were on legitimate investigation activities to Ibadan, Oyo State where the incident took place.
it could be heard that the officer was interrogating the young lady called Towobola in the video, following a raid at the apartment of an alleged kidnapper.

According to the officer who spoke in a local language, the young lady was to answer for how she got to know the kidnapper who she claimed to have met just recently.
The interrogation degenerated into smutty seeming dialogues, with questions ranging from if the suspect is a virgin, to how many people had slept with her, to if she has had sex with the criminal etc.
The suspected criminal was taken away and interrogation was continued with the young lady.
