Before the Belgian top-flight was canceled due to the pandemic, the Super Eagles striker scored 10 goals and provided two assists which helped his side to a seventh-place finish.

His impressive performances melt the heart of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, and gave him chance in the Super Eagles squad in March 2019.

Onuachu made his Super Eagles debut against Egypt in a friendly and has been featured in six games for Nigeria, the three-time African champions.

He was also part of Rohr’s squad that finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
