A man 22-year-old was arraigned in an Ibadan Magistrate Court, Iyaganku ,for allegedly having sex with a female pig. The suspect, whose name was supplied as Ayokunbi, was working in a farm at Eleti- Odo area, Iwo Road, Ibadan where he allegedly developed amorous relationship towards the GILT.
A gilt pig is a female under the age of 1 year. Generally, the term refers to a pig who has not farrowed, or given birth to a litter. However, the age definition is more widely accepted than whether or not the pig has given birth to her initial litter. Once a pig has had a litter and is past her first year, she is called a sow.
He was charged with one count of unnatural offence. The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Opeyemi Olagunju, unleashed in the court that on April 2, at about 4pm at Elewi – Odo, Ibadan,Oyo state, that the defendant allegedly had sex with a female pig against Humanity”.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence. The offence, according to the police officer, contravened the provisions of Section 214 (2) of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II , Laws of Oyo State 2000.
His counsel, Mr Mumin Jimoh, plea with the court to grant his client bail in a most liberal terms. According to him, the owner of the pig has forgiven his client.
The presiding Magistrate Olaide Amzat haven listened to the plea granted the bail on the basis of #100,000 and 2 sureties with same amount each.
