Man aged 32 shot by the Police in Ibadan

A 32-year-old man, named Yemi Ajayi, has been shot dead by a police officer at the Iwo Road under the bridge, in Ibadan the Oyo state capital.

Our reporter gathered that a team of policemen stopped the car in which the late Yemi was traveling alongside his cousin.

An eyewitness said the policemen who were said to have been in Oyo state colored branded Nisan Micra car stopped Ajayi and his cousin Kayode Atanda in their Toyota Camry while going to the office but before the driver could stop, the police started dragging the stirring with the driver.

An elder brother to the victim, Sola Ajayi said the deceased was the breadwinner of the family and that the death of Yemi had brought vacuum into the family, especially in the life of the aged mother.

He also said that a cousin to the deceased, Kayode Atanda is being treated at the University College Hospital and he is in critical condition.

Ajayi added that the area commander while speaking with the family lawyer said the incident was a mistake, adding that the police who committed the crime had been arrested and detained at the Iyaganku area command.

He therefore demanded for justice for the innocent victims, saying his brother must not die in vein.
