The mother of late Nigerian football legend Sam Okwaraji, Janet is dead at 83 years old.
Janeth Okwaraji’s passing was affirmed Monday by her eldest child, Patrick.
Patrick said Nigeria’s Sport Minister Sunday Dare and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have been informed of Janet’s death.
Janet Okwaraji was a resigned teacher and proprietress.
Patrick expressed that the family is yet to meet to talk about when and how the entombment of their mom would take place.
He said there will likewise be a gathering with the individuals Umudioka Community, in Orlu, Imo State, to decide the following move for their late mother’s internment while the date isn’t yet fixed.
Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari mourned with the family.
Buhari in an announcement by presidential representative Femi Adesina said as a mother, who lost her child in a startling circumstance, he accepted that Janeth had the right to be recognized for her flexibility and respectability, in spite of the odds.
Janeth’s child, Sam Okwaraji kicked the bucket of cardiovascular breakdown on 12 August 1989 while playing for the Nigerian national team.
