Know your Nigerian New service chiefs

New service chiefs that will now control the Nigerian Armed Forces are as follow:

Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff

Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff

Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff

Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

President Buhari congratulates the outgoing Service Chiefs on their efforts to bring enduring peace to the country.

The report reaching us says say Buhari on Tuesday accepts the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs and approve their retirement from service.

Major-General Leo Irabor, will replace General Abayomi Olonisakin that has served as Chief of Defence Staff since July 2015.

Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, will replace Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas that has served as Chief of Naval Staff since July 2015.

Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, will replace Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar that has served as Chief of Air Staff since July 2015.

Major-General I. Attahiru, will replace Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai that has served as Chief of Army Staff since July 2015.

It was on 13 July, 2015 (four years and six months ago) that Buhari has appointed all the service chiefs that resigned today.

No thanks to the tension and security concerns that West African countries are facing for some time now has been facing and so many groups have been mounting presure on President Buhari to sack them for a while now

Great tasks lie ahead of the new Service Chiefs to keep Nigeria safe, secure and united.
