58 Nigerian Doctors Stopped From Travelling To The UK

The Nigerian Immigration Service on Friday announced that it stopped 58 Medical Doctors from leaving the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport via a chartered flight.

In his statement, Immigration spokesman Sunday James stressed that the NIS had not received any notification from the “Ministry of Health in Nigeria or any known Medical body” of the doctors’ itinerary.

Meanwhile, only 2 doctors had visa entry into the United Kingdom. while the rest 56 Doctors had no valid visa.

NIS explained that it wasn’t expecting such level educated people not to know the right procedures to their mission of traveling out of their country.

Also that the action was to protect the Doctors, to avoid refusal of Entry and repatriation back to Nigeria amidst Covid-19 pandemic
